Kidderachi - The Distinction EP - Reviewed By J R Ewing

Since the HC boat set sail my interest in UK music has risen to the point that I hardly listen to US music anymore. I understand that it still leads the way and they are on the podium placement marked 1 for a reason but when I listen to the free music being released from UK artists I am filled with a sense of fulfilment that I only used to get from the US scene. One of the first artists I wrote a review on was a man I knew nothing about but quickly became a instant fan of him and such was the nature of the mix-tape I got the chance to listen to a lot of other artists that might not came to my attention for some time. The artist in question is Kidderachi the mix-tape was kidderachi plus+ and his new EP titled the Distinction has not only shown that he is perfecting his trade but that he has what it takes to climb the leader board to become as big as Wiley, Kano, Chipmonk, and wretch 32. Radio 1 take note.

This is not his first solo project, he has represented himself before on other mix-tapes and the Kidderachi Plus+ mix-tape  which is more of a compilation of songs he has been featured on. I think that it is fair to be said that I have been waiting to hear this EP for a long time and have been anticipating a well thought out, very creative mix-tape with maybe one or two big named featured artists and as you will hear and see Kidderachi did not disappoint me.

So on to the EP its self with only 8 tracks he in my eyes is already on to a winner. The front cover is better than his kidderachi Plus+  mix-tape front cover which is saying something, both of them are so simple but effective. He brings with him four supporting artists of the highest calibre Mr Klashnekoff, Sir Haze (eurogang), admiral Wizzy Wow and lord Black The Ripper each blessing him with the the kind of bars that have made them the men that they are, no disappointment from any them. He also brings along with him the vocals of two female vocalists by the names Leesa Desilva and karis who also don’t let the team down.

He starts of with a song called stereotype which is all good and a perfect way to start the EP. Produced by Benno the song is head banger and has a well polished finished feel to it. Real road music.

Sometimes a song is more then about one person and this song is testament to that. Produced by Slic Vic, featuring Black The Ripper on the verse and Leesa Dasilva on the hook. This makes you see Kidderachi in whole new light.

Divine Souls Ft Klashnekoff & Haze by Kidderachi

‘Thuggin or Bloggin’ produced by C R Huber is intelligent rap and the reason I like Kidderachi. What he’s asking is what are you doing?

‘Can’t Get Enough’ featuring Wizzy Wow is one of my favorite tracks of the EP and is well worked, he talks about what I love (women) and it has them female vocals I love on it. Leesa Desilva is defiantly being heard and Slic Vic gets the credits for the production.

Imagine having Kidderachi , Klashnekoff and haze on a track, well wish no more as they team up to bring us a banger with ‘Divine Souls’. Produced by Hitman you will have to like this.

Certain songs you hear and just no females will just love it and I believe the girls will like this one. Featureing the soulful voice of Karis this is one of them songs your gal wont tell you turn off. Produced by Guess Beats.

Heavenly by Kidderachi

This is why Kidderachi gets my vote. Produced by That Producer G.I ‘Redbone’ is my top track on the EP and needs to be heard. This is hard.

‘Hustle And Campaign’ produced by Slic Vic is another road track but with a soulful hook brought to you by Leesa desilva once again. Simply beautiful.

I have to admit that being a fan of Kidderachi I was expecting a hard gritty one for the roads type of sounding mix-tape but even though he keeps it real he comes at you from another angel and it works. His target audience was defiantly different this time and if you was not feeling him then you will now, if you didn’t think he had what it takes to succeed then you will now and if you thought he had no songs that were radio friendly, he has now.

The Distinction is a good change for kidderachi and with plans to drop another instalment for his fans before the end of the year his new and old fans will not have to wait to long for new music to emerge from this rising star. This is a step in the right direction for Kidderachi and I am a bigger fan now!
